COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Machine just got craftier.
The Ohio Machine, of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), announced today a three-year strategic partnership with Pigskin Brewing Co. The craft-beer-sports-bar and professional lacrosse team are uniting on a multi-faceted program that will engage with the lacrosse community throughout the next three years.
"One of the amazing opportunities that Fortress Obetz provides us, is the opportunity to showcase engaging local businesses like Pigskin Brewing Co.,” Ryan Chenault, President of the Ohio Machine, said. “Their addition to our games will help further enhance the gameday experience that we are working hard to create this season."
The combination of professional lacrosse and a local brewery makes Fortress Obetz a destination for all lacrosse and craft beer fans. Pigskin Brewing Co. will be brewing an official Ohio Machine beer, which will be a Helles Lager, a unique and distinctive lager, medium-bodied, pours heady with a striking golden color. In addition to enjoying amazing craft beer at all Ohio Machine home games, away Machine games will be televised at the Pigskin Brewing Co. on Mill Street in Gahanna, Ohio.
"We are excited to be partnering with the Ohio Machine. Their values, work ethic, and drive are very similar to our own,” Craig Bailey Pigskin Owner and Director of Operations said. “Also the sport of lacrosse is unique, complex, and gaining in popularity, very similar to craft beer. We are fortunate to have one of the best lacrosse teams in the world in our backyard, and we just want to help add a little something to Ohio Machine game days."
Inside the Fortress Obetz, Pigskin Brewing Co. will be an amazing, Ohio-brewed craft beer available throughout the 2019 season.
“We just wanted to be progressive when it comes to craft beer,” Chenault said. “Our team sees tremendous value in supporting Ohio-based products and businesses.”
Pigskin Brewing Co. is bringing their very own Gastropub into the partnership, becoming a proud supporter of the Central Ohio Youth Lacrosse League (COYLL). The Gastropub allows the opportunity to host team gatherings and league events, throughout COYLL’s season.
The Ohio Machine 2017 campaign is quickly approaching as the team will host its home opener at Fortress Obetz on May 6
taking on the Rochester Rattlers. So come out and support two of central Ohio’s finest, the Ohio Machine and Pigskin Brewing Co..
