Ohio Machine Proud To Open Fourth Year Of Central Ohio Youth Lacrosse League

March 20, 2019
COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio Machine are proud to commence the fourth season of the Central Ohio Youth Lacrosse League (COYLL) next Sunday, March 31 with regular season play. Through the Machine organization’s leadership, COYLL serves 77 teams from 20 participating communities across the Central Ohio area.

As an initiative to continue growing the game in their community, Licking County has joined COYLL to bring the total number of communities up to 20. Also new in 2019 is the addition of the K-2 age group, which will introduce over 200 children to the game of lacrosse at a younger age than was previously available.

The Machine continue to grow the numbers of officials in COYLL, adding 20 new referees in 2019 to put the total number over 100. The Machine are proud to supply all new officials with brand new gear for 2019 and US Lacrosse certified training to ensure that COYLL continues to be officiated at the highest quality of youth lacrosse.

On April 28, the Machine will host the league’s annual COYLL Play Day at Fortress Obetz, as the Machine host 24 different teams throughout the day. The 2019 season will run through Sunday, May 12.

“We’re extremely happy that the structure of COYLL has served as the backbone for many of these communities to thrive in the game of lacrosse,” Machine Head Coach and General Manager Bear Davis said. “We’re also excited that COYLL has become a great unifier for the communities and by coming together we can all grow our great game. We will continue to be a strong support system to help these programs flourish.”

The Machine are excited to welcome back Donatos as the presenting partner of COYLL’s Team of the Week. Columbus Coach and Supreme Limousine returns as the presenting partner of COYLL’s Team of the Year. Additionally, thanks to Dr. Scott A. Kelly and Dental Associates, all COYLL participants will have the opportunity to get fitted for a free mouthguard as part of a free dental exam in Dr. Kelly’s office. Furthermore, The Lacrosse Academy will be providing a special discount to all COYLL participants.
