The Machine were honored at The Columbus Foundation’s annual National Number Ones event on Thursday for their achievement in winning the 2017 Major League Lacrosse Championship.
Every year, the National Number Ones event honors all of the outstanding accomplishments, awards and hard work of Columbus community members. The event honors the achievements of a variety of individuals ranging from business and nonprofit leaders to athletes and sports teams.
The Machine were represented at the event by Midfielder Dominique Alexander, who has been a member of the team for five seasons. Alexander, a Division I lacrosse graduate from The Ohio State University, and current coach of the Olentangy High School men’s lacrosse team, was proud to represent the Machine organization.
“It’s a good feeling any time you’re recognized for greatness,” Alexander said. “Thank you to the Columbus Foundation for having us and for supporting our city, and the great people within it.”
