Ohio Machine Announce Fifth Annual Ohio Machine Senior All-Star Challenge

May 16, 2018
COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio Machine are proud to announce that they will play host to the fifth annual Ohio Machine Senior All-Star Challenge on Saturday, June 9. For one last time, 60 graduating seniors will suit up before continuing their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level. This year’s Senior All-Star Challenge will take place for the second year at Fortress Obetz, the nation’s first professional lacrosse specific stadium, at 3:00 p.m.

The 60 Ohio players will be split by Ohio, 20 participants from North (Cleveland/Toledo area), 20 participants from South (Cincinnati/Dayton area) and 20 participants from Central (Columbus area). The three teams will compete in a round-robin tournament.
Last season the rosters were highlighted by seven US Lacrosse All-Americans, nine All-State First-Team winners, six All-State Second-Team winners and six All-State Third-Team winners.

“We’re proud to be hosting Ohio’s annual state-wide senior all-star game,” Machine head coach Bear Davis said. “Having the top lacrosse players in Ohio play one game dates back to the beginning of lacrosse in Ohio. The talent pool has been growing each year as the game of lacrosse flourishes in Ohio and so we are extremely proud and honored to be continuing this great tradition.”

Fans will be able to see the Ohio Machine take on the Chesapeake Bayhawks afterwards at 6:00 p.m. and each ticket purchased will give fans access to both events.  Tickets are available for purchase here and player nominations for the 2018 Ohio Machine Senior All-Star Challenge are now being accepted.
