OSU Grad Named Assistant Coach at Winthrop University
Winthrop University named 2009 The Ohio State graduate Amanda Shimp as the assistant women's lacrosse coach. At OSU, Shimp was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team and earned 2007 and 2008 American Lacrosse Conference All-Tournament honors and was named Second Team All-Conference in 2007.
Shimp was an All-Big Academic Team member in 2008 and was also honored on the American Conference Academic Team in 2007 and 2008. She was named a OSU Scholar-Athlete in 2008.

Wilmington College Adds Varsity Lacrosse Teams in 2012-2013
Wilmington College in Ohio will sponsor men's and women's varsity lacrosse teams, beginning with the 2012-13 academic year.
“A significant percentage of Wilmington College’s students participate in intercollegiate athletics,” Wilmington College interim president Jim Reynolds said. “The College is committed to providing the most complete collegiate experience possible for our students, and adding lacrosse — the fastest growing sport in the nation — will help us continue that mission.”
National searches for men’s and women’s coaches are under way. The teams will begin competition during the spring 2013 season and will play their home games at the 3,500-seat Williams Stadium.

US Lacrosse Southern Ohio Chapter Holds Monthly Meeting
The next US Lacrosse Chapter meeting will be held this Wednesday, October 19, from 7-9pm at the Mason Intermediate School 4/5 Cafeteria at 6307 Mason-Montgomery Road in Mason, OH.
