OSU Lacrosse Starts Season with Scrimmages
The 2014 Ohio State Lacrosse season got underway with scrimmages against Hill Academy and Navy. The Buckeyes will also scrimmage Robert Morris on February 1. Their first regular season game will be played at Johns Hopkins on February 9, followed by a February 16 matchup against the University of Massachusetts in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Ohio Machine currently has five former Buckeyes on its roster. Dominique Alexander, Kevin Mack, Eric O’Brien, Stefan Schroder and Logan Schuss are all former Buckeyes who will suit up for the Machine in 2014.
Mount Union Brings Two to the Team
The lacrosse team at University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio will be starting their 2014 season with two new coaches. Brian Stewart spent two years coaching at his alma mater, Limestone College, before accepting a position as the head coach at Mount Union. Todd Wolffrum spent three years as a varsity head coach at Bethany College where he organized and began their lacrosse program, and this past September was named assistant coach at Mount Union. Mount Union begins their season February 19 at Wooster. Their home opener is February 26 against Oberlin.
Ohio Wesleyan Preps for 58th Season
Ohio Wesleyan University will begin their 58 th season on February 19 against Mount St. Joseph, followed by Otterbein on February 22.  In the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft, the Machine drafted Ohio Wesleyan midfielder Spencer Schnell. The senior from Dublin, Ohio lead OWU in shots with 123, and finished third on the team in points during the 2013 season.
Capital Introduces First Lacrosse Team
This will be the first season of Men and Women’s Lacrosse at Capital University. Bill Olin, former goaltender at Rutgers University, has been named head coach of the men’s team. Ray Finnegan Jr., former lacrosse standout at Bellarmine University, joins Olin’s staff as an assistant coach. Stacey Wood, a former assistant coach at SUNY Oneonta, will lead the women’s team.
