“Appearing on national television five times this season speaks to the direction the team is moving and the young star power we have built our roster around,” Machine President & General Manager John Algie said. “To have four of our seven home games on CBS Sports Network is an amazing opportunity for our players and fans to show the rest of the country what lacrosse in Ohio is all about.”
Four of the Machine’s seven home games will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network, including the team’s June 6 game against the Boston Cannons and the team’s July 4 game against the reigning MLL Champion Chesapeake Bayhawks. The Machine will appear on national television five times this year, up from three appearances in 2013 and two appearances in 2012. In 2012 and 2013, only one Machine home game was aired on national television.
“Today’s announcement speaks to the popularity of lacrosse in Ohio and how the Ohio Machine has made an impact on the sport throughout the state,” said Greater Columbus Sports Commission Executive Director Linda Logan. “The Machine continues to enhance its roster and it will be exciting for the rest of the country to see the team at work for many of their home games.”
CBS Sports Network will air 24 Major League Lacrosse games this season, up from 20 games in 2013. The network will also televise the MLL All-Star Game on June 26, as well as the MLL Semifinals on August 16 and the Championship Game on August 23.
