The Ohio Machine announced today several player moves, which included acquiring midfielder Jeff Colburn from the Rochester Rattlers and attackman Joe Cummings from the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
The Machine traded its 1st and 2nd Round picks in the 2013 Supplemental Draft for Colburn and Rochester’s 1st Round pick in the 2013 Supplemental Draft. Colburn is currently in his third season in the league and has three points (1G 2A) in four games this season. Colburn will be added immediately to the Machine’s 25-man active roster.
The team’s second trade of the day involved sending its 2nd Round pick* in the 2013 Collegiate Draft and a conditional 3rd Round pick in the 2014 Collegiate Draft to Chesapeake for Cummings and a 3rd Round pick** in the 2013 Collegiate Draft.
Joe Cummings is currently on the collegiate inactive list after finishing his senior season at the University of Maryland. Cummings played at Maryland with several of his current Machine teammates, including defenseman Max Schmidt and goalie Brian Phipps. Cummings was also a high school teammate of rookie attackman Steele Stanwick.
The Machine also traded midfielder Jordan Levine to the Long Island Lizards for a 4th Round pick in the 2013 Supplemental Draft.
The Machine also announced today the extension of Head Coach Ted Garber’s contract through the Machine’s 2013 season.
