Get to Know the Machine: Anthony Biscardi

March 19, 2016
Anthony Biscardi knows what it’s like to win.  During his senior season at University of Massachusetts, Biscardi helped lead the UMass Minutemen to a 16-1 overall record.  Biscardi is now entering his first year in the MLL and hopes to carry on his winning ways with the Machine.

Biscardi enters MLL after spending four years with the Minutemen.  In his first season with UMass, Biscardi played in 15 games and finished second among all freshmen on the team in points with five.  Biscardi earned his first all-conference accolades as a sophomore in 2010, as well as being named a 2010 CAA Second-Team Midfielder.  As a junior, Biscardi piled up even more honors.  Prior to his junior year he was named to the Tewaaraton Watch List and was named a preseason All-CAA honoree according to Face-Off Magazine.  Biscardi lived up to these expectations by tallying 21 goals and 14 assists for 35 points.  In his senior season, Biscardi tied his career high in goals with 21 and added seven more assists.  Biscardi finished his career 65 goals and 40 assists for 105 points.

Besides his versatility and threat as a scorer and a feeder, Biscardi also brings preparation and devotion to the team.  “I categorize a season as successful by the amount of focus and preparation devoted during the week prior to the game.  Also by the amount of heart displayed during the game no matter the score.”

No when I was little I never thought I was going to become a professional lacrosse player I just enjoyed playing with my friends.

3.        What is some advice you would give to those youth players hoping to make it to MLL status one day?

Some advice I would give to young players is to practice every day whether it’s playing wall ball or going out and shooting because if you work hard enough you will succeed.

4.        Why do you love lacrosse?

I love lacrosse because it is such a fast paced game.
