2nd Annual Ohio Lacrosse the Nations Fall Festival

March 19, 2016
Want your kids to learn from the best while supporting a good cause?

The 2 nd Annual Ohio Lacrosse the Nations Fall Festival will be held on Sunday, October 16, from 12 to 3 p.m. in New Albany.

The 2 nd Annual Fall Festival benefits Lacrosse the Nations, which focuses on “unifying the lacrosse community to sustainably improve education and health while creating hope and opportunity for children in need.”

The festival, which is open to youth and high school boys and girls with a minimum $25 donation to Lacrosse the Nations, will feature skills competitions including fastest shot, trick shot and accuracy. Your kids will also be participating in specialty clinics lead by Major League Lacrosse All Stars and Ohio Machine players Anthony Kelly and Greg Bice, Lacrosse the Nations Co-founder Brett Hughes, USILA All-American Max Schmidt and The Ohio State University Men’s and Women’s teams.

"The Ohio and Midwest lacrosse communities have really come together to support the cause of Lacrosse the Nations.  It is truly a blessing to be a part of such a wonderful group of people,” said Lacrosse the Nations Board Member Greg Bice.

Lacrosse the Nations established their first lacrosse program with the School of Hope in La Chureca, Nicaragua in 2009, which currently enrolls more than 300 students. The program fosters education through incentives designed to increase enrollment, attendance and graduation rates in a community where its children survive on less than $1.25 per day.  The lacrosse program consists of a PE and after-school lacrosse program, a Life Skills curriculum that uses the sport to teach good health and critical life skills, and a Breakfast Nutrition Program. For more information on the School of Hope program, click here.

A $25 minimum donation to Lacrosse the Nations is needed to participate in the festival and includes a Lacrosse the Nations Festival t-shirt, as well as entry into all clinics between 12 and 3 p.m. To register for the festival, click here.

All proceeds from the 2 nd Annual Festival will go towards Lacrosse the Nations’ salaries for the local Nicaraguan lacrosse coaches and director, equipment and field maintenance, food and drinks for breakfast and sports nutrition program and school supplies for students at the School of Hope.
