Columbus, Ohio– The Ohio Machine have announced two open tryouts this spring, ahead of the upcoming 2018 season. The first tryout will be held on Sunday, March 11 at Fortress Obetz Field from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The second tryout will be held on Sunday, March 18 at Bryn Athyn College in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m and will be a joint tryout with the Florida Launch. The cost for participation is $100, and the fee will include a pinnie, lunch, and a complete evaluation from MLL coaches.
Players invited to training camp will have the opportunity to compete for a full-time roster spot. Last season, the Machine added four players to their training camp roster from those who attended open tryouts.
To be eligible for the 2018 Ohio Machine Open Tryout, players must already be registered in the MLL Player Pool, which closed on December 8, 2017. In order to be eligible for the player pool, prospective players must be either be a College Graduate or must have graduated High School no later than 2014. Those who ended the 2017 Major League Lacrosse season on a team roster, or are in the current Player Pool did not need to re-register.
