2013 Sponsor Spotlight: W.g. Grinders

March 19, 2016
The Ohio Machine welcomes back numerous sponsors from 2012 for the Machine’s sophomore season, including W.g. Grinders, one of the most beloved sandwich shops in the Midwest. With their headquarters located in Lewis Center, Ohio, W.g. Grinders has been filling the stomachs of Ohio natives with their hot subs and special condiments for many years. As one of the first companies to sponsor the Machine during their inaugural season, they are back to support the team during their second season and training camp weekends.

“W.g. Grinders makes a mean sandwich and we’re looking forward to working together again this year,” said Machine GM and President John Algie. “We really appreciate their support and I know our players are going to appreciate their food during training camp.”

“It was an honor to be a part of the Machine’s inaugural season and to partner with such a great organization,” said Mike Bellisari, president of W.g. Grinders. “We are very fortunate to be part of the Machine family and help bring the sport of lacrosse to Ohio, which we believe is a perfect fit for the area.”

As part of the partnership with the Machine, W.g. Grinders will be the catering company for the team’s upcoming training camps. They will be supplying meals for all of the players during their two weekend-long camps in mid-April. Bellisari’s continuous support for the Machine’s players comes from their role of reaching out and making an impact in the central Ohio community.

“The Machine brought the fastest growing sport to an area where fans were itching for a pro lacrosse team,” said Bellisari. “The team was amazing with the fans throughout the entire season last year and the fans embraced the team just as much. Youth players were also given incredible role models to look up to, not only on the field but off the field as well. I know my kids and I are looking forward to getting back out to the games to cheer on the team and see what their second year brings.”

The Machine and W.g. Grinders are anticipating an exhilarating second season with extraordinary plays seen both on and off the field. W.g Grinders’ sandwiches fuel the fans that fuel the Machine and are glad that the people of Ohio have another team to cheer on.

“The Machine is out in the community all over the Columbus area and the athletes are very willing to work with the community,” said Bellisari. “Ohio is a great state for lacrosse and the Machine is helping grow the sport by bringing the best players in the world into our backyard. The 2013 season is going to be an exciting one and W.g. Grinders is excited to be a part of it once again!”
