1st Annual Ohio Machine Overnight Camp

March 19, 2016

The Ohio Machine is excited to announce its first-ever overnight camp for 6th to 8th grade boys this summer at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.  The camp will take place from July 24-27 and is welcome to players of all skills levels and experience.

Machine Head Coach Ted Garber will be directing the camp along with Machine players, office staff and local college players and coaches. Camp attendants will play at Ohio Wesleyan’s historic Selby Stadium, the home field of the Ohio Machine.

The camp will focus on building team concepts and increasing individual skills to grow the campers’ game confidence through a positive learning atmosphere. Players can expect to work on team concepts such as offensive team scoring, defending goal team play and offensive and defensive off-ball concepts. They will also have a chance to improve their passing, dodging, catching, shooting and 1v1 defensive play.

“We’re going to be doing a lot of individual and team concept work in order to gain that recognition of the teamwork component,” said Coach Garber. “We’re going to build, but we’re going to have fun doing it.”

Camp attendees will receive the best training from the most elite coaches and players in the country. Head Coach and Camp Director Ted Garber has an expansive history coaching at the collegiate and professional levels.  Garber has earned many recognitions and awards for his coaching such as his induction into the New Hampshire and Connecticut Lacrosse Halls of Fame, 1986 New England Coach of the Year and the Vincent Lobello New England Sportsmanship Award.

The Machine camp is only $490 and includes housing in air-conditioned dormitories at Ohio Wesleyan with access to university dining halls, attendance at the Machine team practice Friday night and a ticket to the Machine’s final home game and “Fan Appreciation Night” against the Charlotte Hounds on Saturday, July 27.

The camp will cap at 200 players so be sure to register soon so you can get the full experience of the Ohio Machine! To register for the Machine’s first overnight camp, click here or call 614-754-1973.
