1. What made you choose lacrosse over all the other sports out there?
It was just flat out more entertaining than anything else. Playing baseball in the spring time was pretty common in Western, PA but it just didn’t keep my attention enough. Football and basketball were great sports but I realized pretty quickly that lacrosse was my true passion in middle school.
2. When you were little, did you expect to play at the MLL level?
I don’t know if there was an expectation to play in the MLL but as I grew older, it was definitely something I dreamed of doing.
3. What is some advice you would give to those youth players hoping to make it to MLL status one day?
Write it down. I’m a true believer that if we don’t write down our goals/dreams, it’s extremely hard to achieve them. Writing it down is the first step in the process and demonstrates true commitment to that goal.
4. Who has been your favorite person to work with up to this point in your lacrosse career?
Peet Poillon no question. I’ve never seen someone who is more self-motivated to improve himself every day. I’ve also never seen someone prove people wrong so many times! He’s done it at every level of his lacrosse career.
5. Who is your lacrosse role model?
It’s hard not to say Greg Bice, regardless of your team affiliation. The work he does off the field with Lacrosse the Nations and the way he conducts himself as a true professional is inspiring to everyone who meets him.
6. What is one thing that you try to improve on with your playing style?
I really try to focus on the fundamentals of stick skills and footwork.
7. What are you looking forward to the most in the 2013 season?
I’m looking forward to being around a great franchise and a great team
8. How do you usually spend your offseason?
My offseason is mainly spent coaching at Grove City College and Low and Away Lacrosse in an effort to really grow the game in the Pittsburgh area.
9. Do you have any game day superstitions?
I drink a regular black coffee pre-game (if that counts).
10. What is your typical pregame meal?
11. How do you prepare for an upcoming match?
I watch film and visualize what I need to do to be successful on the field.
12. How do you categorize a season as successful?
If we’ve achieved the goals we’ve set prior to the season.
13. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
It’s easier to be yourself 100% of the time than 99% of the time.
14. What are three words that would describe who you are?
Ambitious, Determined, Energetic
