Match4Kim - Help Save a Life, Get Swabbed!

The central Ohio lacrosse community is rallying around local lacrosse mom Kim Roper as she prepares for another battle with cancer and looking for a viable bone marrow donor through the National Marrow Donor Program.

The lacrosse community is currently looking for everyone to register with the Be the Match Registry through the National Marrow Donor Program by just getting a simple cotton swab! A simple swab could save the life of Kim or someone else in the community.

People between the ages of 18 and 44 are urged more to donate. Doctors choose donors based on what is best for their patient. Research shows that cells from younger donors lead to more successful transplants. More than 90% of the time doctors choose registry members between the ages 18-44.

On average one in every 540 members of Be the Match Registry in the United States will go on to donate bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cells to a patient in need.
