Columbus Coach to be Elected into the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame

The Columbus Academy’s head women’s lacrosse coach Anne Horton has been elected to the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame.  Horton will be inducted during the 2012 Hall of Fame reception on June 9th at The Golf Club of Dublin. 

 

Resolute Shootout to be Held on May 19th

Resolute Lacrosse has announced the date and location for their tournament, the Resolute Shootout at Olentangy powered by The Ohio Machine.  The Shootout will consist of 16 teams and will be held at Olentangy on May 19th, 2012.  Any team that registers will receive 15 ticket vouchers to the Machine’s home opener on the 19th at 8 p.m.  Teams can purchase additional tickets for the home opener at $10 per ticket.  

Ohio State Men’s Lacrosse to Be Televised on February 19

The new NBC Sports Network will broadcast Ohio State’s third game of the season this Sunday, when the Buckeyes face the #5 Denver Pioneers.  The matchup is part of the Moe’s Southwest Classic men’s lacrosse challenge and will take place at Everbank Field in Jacksonville, FL.

 

#18 Ohio State Women’s Lacrosse Upsets #6 Stanford

On Sunday, February 12th, the Ohio State Women’s Lacrosse team defeated Stanford 14-10 behind senior midfielder Gabby Capuzzi’s four goals and one assist.  OSU had a three goal lead going into half time but Stanford scored three straight goals to start the second half to tie the game at seven.  OSU then took the lead on Capuzzi’s third goal and did not give it back.  The Buckeyes are now 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2009. 

Titanium Lacrosse Announces Elite Teams Tryout Dates

On Monday, February 13th, Titanium Lacrosse announced their dates for their Titanium Elite Team tryouts.  The tryouts will be held on July 21-22 at Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin.  The tryouts will be open to players who are due to graduate high school in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
