Machine Rounds Out Roster

The Ohio Machine picked up five additional players from the Player Pool to round out its roster at 40 players for the 2012 season today. The five players include The Ohio State University alums Jeff Schneider and Mario Ventiquattro, as well as attackman Colin Igoe (Notre Dame), midfielder Will Harrington (Towson) and defenseman Audi Glass (Bishop).

Schneider played for OSU from 2004 to 2007, playing in 55 of OSU’s 57 games during those four seasons. He tallied up a total of 78 groundballs, received the team's Outstanding Freshman award in 2004 and earned ALL-GWLL First Team in 2007. Schneider attended Dublin-Scioto High School and played varsity lacrosse from 2001 to 2003. Schneider was a part of the team that won the state championship in 2003 and was runner-up in 2001. He was named 2003 All-American, First Team All-State, All-Midwest selection and two-time defensive player of the year.

Ventiquattro, a Cathrage, NY native, began his college tenure at OSU in 2007, where he earned GWLL Player of the Week, scored nine goals and recorded three assists for a total of 12 points in only seven games.  Ventiquattro finished his college career playing 55 games, scoring 73 goals and recording 25 assists for a total of 98 points.

Glass, who grew up in northeast Ohio and attended Western Reserve Academy, played college lacrosse for Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec. While attending Bishop’s University, he was named team captain, three-time CUFLA All-Canada and co-winner of the 2008 CUFLA Most Valuable Graduating Player.

Igoe transferred from University of Massachusetts after his freshman season to Notre Dame but did not play a full season until 2010 due to injury. In 2010, Igoe played in all of the Fighting Irish’s games, including seven starts, and scored seven goals, recorded six assists and picked up eight ground balls. Igoe finished his college career in 2011 playing in 14 games, where he scored 16 goals, recorded four assists and picked up 10 ground balls.

Harrington finished up his college tenure at Towson University in 2009, where he was named First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association and led the team with 23 goals and ranked third with 26 points. Harrington led CAA with eight extra-man goals. Prior to Towson, Harrington played for Hobart and University of Maryland.

The Machine just recently drafted UVA attackman and 2011 Tewaaraton Trophy winner Steele Stanwick with its first pick (2nd overall) in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft, followed by Duke midfielder Robert Rotanz with its second pick (8th overall). The Machine also drafted attackmen Billy Eisenreich, Alex Demopoulos and Austin Bright, and midfielders Bobby Eilers, Anthony Biscardi, Chris Langton and Marshall Burkhart.
